TGC installed this putting green in our back yard. I was surprised at the amount of material that was used to construct this green. Other companies that I considered did not utilize the stone and crushed granite for the base. The quality of the material produced very realistic playing characteristics. Details like the direction of the grain and placement of slopes were just part of the quality. Highly recommend having Jake and his team install your project.

Common Artificial Lawn Questions

Artificial Lawn FAQ's

Artificial turf is a great choice for front and backyard lawns, pet lawns, playgrounds and other open spaces. We have installed turf for almost every application imaginable.

Does artificial grass get hot?

YES! Turf does get hot, HOWEVER, we have the SOLUTION and it is called TCOOL (make it a clickable link to that page on our site?) TCOOL infill will keep your turf up to 50 DEGREES COOLER!

Is it "OK" if my dog goes to the bathroom on the turf and will it stain it?

All turf is "safe" for dogs to "go" on it. However, we recommend using one of our 100% permeable backed turfs vs a turf with just drain holes. This way the urine goes right through and does not have to "find" a drain hole.

Turf is a "sealed" fiber and will not absorb stains like carpet does. Simply remove the solid waste and if there is residue left behind, either wait for it to dry and pick it up like normal or use a garden hose to gently rinse the turf off.

Will my turf smell if my dog goes on it?

The turf itself will not smell. If a traditional backed turf with drain holes is used and the dog doesn't "hit" the drain hole (never met one that could!), the urine sits in between the drain holes until water flushes to one.

This is why we suggest a fully permeable turf. Using an antimicrobial infill is also A MUST! NO silica sand should ever be used. OxyTurf cleanser (link to our page?) can also be used to spray on the turf to kill any bacteria that causes the odor and leaves a "fresh cut" grass smell behind.

How long will my turf last?

The true and correct answer is for decades. It will only look "good" for about 15-16 years or so. Anything that is outside for that long starts to "weather" and starts to look "tired" over time. The turf is guaranteed not to have any UV fading or loss of turf pile for 15 years.

Can I keep my sprinklers "active" to rinse off, flush and activate my TCOOL infill?

YES YOU CAN! Many people with kids and dogs choose to leave the sprinkler intact. We cut a small hole so the heads can still pop up to rinse off the turf and cool it down. When in a drought, "watering" your turf will replenish the TCOOL and continue to cool your turf for hours and hours after the water has been turned off!
